She quit her place in the Panthers in 1969 and quit high school following her time at Calumet High School, and Kenwood High School. (Now Kenwood Academy). She performed in Chicago along with Cash McCall and his group Lyfe with Hassan Khan. Chaka got married to Hassan in the year 1970.
